Katie's musical training began when
she was 3 years old, studying classical piano. She has been performing in
public ever since. Picking up various instruments over the years, Katie's
shows and recording represent the ultimate in multi-instrumental
versatility. Her vocals, are compared to Janis Joplin, Patsy Cline, and
Bonnie Raitt. Her lively renditions of Irish pub songs bring forth the true
intended energy of each tune. |
|
The roots of Katie's musical influences come from both of her grandfathers.
She grew up learning Irish folk songs from one grandfather, and ragtime
"sing–along" style songs from her other grandfather. |
|
These influences are passionate to her, and this passion is evident during Katie's performances. |
|
Her music can be described as folksy-bluesy energetic, and most of
all, fun! The Katie Sullivan Band's newly released CD, "Feel Free To Dance"
showcases that energy. |
|
 |
| Katie's solo CD's – "Raise Your
Glass" and "Blue-Eyed Soul" have sold over 2,000 copies and have had
mentionable airplay in the United States, Ireland, and Germany! Katie plays
every instrument and sings all vocal parts for each track on the CD. You can
click each album title to hear song samples. Critics
proclaim that since the release of "Feel
Free To Dance," Katie
and the band have become an "incredible presence in the Chicago music scene." |
